Stitchmas Day 4 & Day 9

For today’s card I used the Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas kit along with the Spellbinders Add On kit, and I think these came out so cute!  These cards were so easy to create.  First, I had the hard task of trying to decide which days to use to create my cards, and then I had to decide on a color scheme for each card.  The Santa card was easy, but the mittens card was more difficult because I wanted to create a card in each color of the rainbow.  I ultimately decided on dark blue.

For the Santa card, I die cut all my pieces and then stitched Santa’s beard.  I used the white metallic floss that was included in the Add On kit.  I did basic stitching, nothing fancy.  Spellbinders makes it so easy as they have embossed lines in the die cut for you to follow.  Then I was ready to assemble my card.  For my panel I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Dotted Chevron cover plate, and layered that with a piece of Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust glitter paper.  I cut my “ho ho ho” from Day 3 of the Stitchmas kit and layered these die cuts 3 thick.  I did this because I love dimension!  My sentiment also came from the Add On Kit.  I figured out my placement, added some foam squares to the back of Santa and adhered everything.  Then I add some snowflakes from Day 6 of the kit.  Added some gems and this card was done!

For my second card, the mittens came from Day 9 of the Stitchmas kit.  Again, I started by die cutting all my pieces and then stitched my mittens using the same white metallic floss I used on Santa’s beard.  For my background, I ink blended a little Pinkfresh Studio Storm ink on my panel and then ran it through my die cutting machine in the Spellbinders 3D embossing folder that was included with my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine.  I layered this piece with more of my favorite Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust glitter paper.  Next, I attached everything to my panel and of course, added some snowflakes and gems!  My sentiment for this card, also came from the add on kit.  So cute, and so quick and easy.  Would you like to see more stitching cards and videos?  After all, I only used 2 days out of the 12.  You can watch me recreate these cards here.  Thank you so much for stopping by!
