Today I am sharing a card created featuring Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s Wild Violet & Ladybugs and The Poet’s Garden Sentiments Press & Foil Plates from Spellbinders. I was provided these sets free of charge to create for them. This was such a fun card to create! There are other sets in this collection and all are absolutely stunning!
To start I cut 2 panels from Indigo cardstock. One cut to 4.25 x 5.5”, the other cut to 4 x 5.25. I adhered the 4.25 x 5.5” panel directly to my card base and then I ran the 4 x 5.25 in the Molded Frame 3D Embossing folder through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine and then adhered that to my card. I also cut one more small piece of cardstock (slightly smaller than 1.75 x 3”) from Indigo cardstock and centered that in my embossing folder and ran that through my machine. I added thin foam squares behind this for added dimension. For my violets, I cut 4 sets of the petals from Fairy Tale cardstock and 4 sets of the leaves along with the stem from Rainforest cardstock. Then I did some ink blending on these pieces using a slightly darker ink than the cardstock. The violets were assembled with liquid glue. Then I added my violets and leaves to the stem. I added my violet cluster to my smaller embossed piece and then added some Fashion Pearls in Gold. I cut my cute little ladybug from plain white cardstock and colored it red with my Olo Marker R1.5. Then I added the black markings with my Olo BK. So cute! To get the curved shape on my ladybug I place it upside down on my Misti mat, and used the handle part of my blending brush to create a curve. When I flipped her back over she was perfect! I did add a thin foam square under her to keep her shape on my card. I hot foiled the Thank you from The Poet’s Garden Sentiments in Gold Glimmer Foil on Indigo cardstock, and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Finally I added a few more Fashion Pearls in Gold and this card was done! I am loving how it came out! Links to all the products I used are listed below, just click on the product.
