Everyday

Day 11 – Stitchmas 2025

Today’s card features Day 11 from Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas. I didn’t have the opportunity to use all the days, but I really like the little owl from Day 11 and just had to do a card with him. He is so cute! He reminds me of the Tootsie Pop owl. I wanted to show how you can use a holiday themed set and turn it into an everyday card. I kept my color palette pretty simple with gold, browns and cream. After I die cut my images, I started my stitching. I used gold metallic thread for his wings and tummy. On his wings I doubled my thread because we had several starting holes and then on his tummy I only used a single thread because we had one hole for our starting point and I didn’t want to overcrowd my piece. For my background I hot foiled Spellbinders Woodgrain Background with Matte Gold foil onto Truffle cardstock, the same color I used for my owl’s body. I used an oval die from my stash and created the cut out for my owl to sit in. I added foam squares behind his wings, tummy and body. I didn’t have an owl themed sentiment set in my stash, so I just printed something off my computer. I actually do that quite often if I don’t have a specific sentiment. I added a few Spellbinders Smoky Topaz gems and this card was done. So cute! For more details, links to all the products I used and to watch me create this card, you can click here.
