Spellbinders Spring Magnolias

It’s time to create Mother’s Day cards!   Today I used Spellbinders Spring Magnolias Press Plate and Die Set.  I love getting more uses out of a set than just what it was intended for.  Press plates foil beautifully!  All samples shown were created identically, except for the color of the magnolias.  When I googled the color of magnolias, I found mostly white and cream colored flowers, but decided to do some other samples in different colors because my husband said my first cream colored sample was a little plain and not as colorful as my usual cards.  Ha!  What does he know about flowers?  🙂  To start, I hot foiled my images in Spellbinders Pewter Glimmer foil and used the coordinating dies to cut out my images after coloring.  Next, I stamped Honey Bee’s Vintage Flora background stamp in Pinkfesh Studio’s Olive ink.  Then I hot foiled my frame using Spellbinders Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Rectangles, and cut it out using Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies.  After all my pieces were prepared, I adhered my arranged images around the frame using foam strips, being careful to leave room for my sentiment in the middle.  The final fancy last touch was the matching envelope I hot foiled and colored!  These cards were pretty easy to put together and I love how they came out!

I colored my purple card with BV31 and BV02, my blue card with B00 and B12 and the green card with YG11 and YG03 Copic Markers.  The leaves on all my cards were colored with Tombow alcohol markers P177 and P158.

The yellow card was colored with Y02 and Y15 Copic markers.  The orange card was colored with E02 and YR02.   The pink card was colored with RV21 Copic marker and Tombow P803.  Finally the cream colored card was colored with E21 and YR000 Copic markers.

I really enjoyed seeing the full rainbow of cards when I was done.  They came out so pretty!

You can watch me recreate this card here.
