Birthday, Everyday

Sandwich Board Idea Turned Card

Today I am sharing a card idea that I thought of on our trip to Minnesota last month.  We ate out a lot.  And I mean a lot.  We stayed at an Airbnb and I did make breakfast most days, but lunch and dinner were pretty much out every night.  I kept seeing sandwich boards with the menus and specials and I thought I could use the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die to create a super cute card that would look like a chalk board with sections.  I think this card does that.  Even though it is very simple, I think it came out super cute!  I cut out the Postage Collage die from white and black card stock.  I selected some birthday sentiments from Pretty Pink Posh’s Party Time, Altenew’s Birthday Greetings and one small stamp from a Waffle Flower stamp set.  I lined them up in my Mini Misti and stamped in black on the white card stock, just to make sure everything was placed well and my sentiments were straight.  Then I stamped in Versamark and white heat embossed on the black card stock.  I trimmed a layering piece in white (3 7/8 x 5 1/8) for under my black postage collage panel, and then I layered the postage collage piece with foam adhesive and also the white cardstock, just for extra dimension.  I embellished with some matte enamel dots that I’ve had in my stash for more years than I can remember.  (that’s a reminder, to go through your stash and use what you have before you buy new if you can)  Then for the finishing touches I added some small details on the balloons and cupcake with a white gel pen.  I also drew small lines on the postage details just to make the sections stand out a little more.  You can watch me create this card here.

BONUS CARD…After I was done recording my video I decided to color in my white test sample and turn it into a card.  It also came out super cute!  I colored the images with copic markers and then added Pinkfresh Studio’s Glitter Drops in Gold, Lagoon and Amethyst.  These cards came together so quickly.

Thank you for stopping by.
