Oh my goodness! I am thrilled with how cute this card came out! Today’s card was created using Spellbinder’s Mushrooms From Me to You 3D Embossing folder, and it has so much dimension that the photos just don’t do it justice. I also made a matching wax seal at the end with Spellbinders coordinating Forest Mushrooms Wax Stamping Seal. This card came together very easily and was done in no time. I started by misting my cardstock so it wouldn’t tear or crack when I ran my embossing folder through my die cutting machine. Then I inked up the folder with Pinkfesh Studio Sage Ink using a brayer. (I originally tried inking up the folder directly with my ink pad, but was unhappy with the result, as I got way to much ink on my surface and it puddled when I pressed the ink onto the cardstock.) After I inked up the embossing folder, I ran it through my die cutting machine and then repeated the process 3 more times, so I got a nice dark impression of ink. Embossing folders are a hard surface and not necessarily made to transfer ink, so this is why I had to repeat the process. It was very easy to do. Then I used the included die to cut out my main image. I selected a dark green cardstock from my stash and foam mounted the main image and layering piece on a top folding card base that I created using the same color as the main image. I finally added my sentiment, which I hot foiled using Spellbinders More Sentiments set, and then some Matte Gold Metallic Pearls from Pinkfresh Studio and it came together beautifully! Then for the final touch I used the pour and scrape method I demonstrated last week to create the matching wax seal for my envelope. Even though this card was simple, that wax seal gives it the perfect finishing touch. And of course, as always, you can always change up the sentiment or color scheme to fit your needs. You can watch me create this card here. Thank you so much for stopping by.
