Can you believe we are almost into the middle of August? Summer will be over before we know it. This makes me so sad. Spring is my favorite season, then summer. I love the longer days! In today’s video I am desperately trying to hang onto the summer vibe. I used Spellbinders Betterpress Society’s June 2024 press plate set. You can only sign up for the Betterpress Society through a brick and mortar store. I get mine from Firefly Farm in Minnesota. My favorite craft store! I did check Firefly Farm’s website and they are not showing any additional sets available, but if you google it, you can find a store that still has a couple individual sets available. In this video, I also showed a hack to keep your chase (base plate) in your Betterpress to keep from moving around when you run it through your die cutting machine. I’ve seen some people use tape, but I think my new hack will keep it in place better. This card was so easy! I used Crane’s Lattra cotton paper for this card. I know there is a shortage of this paper currently, but I hope it will be available soon. I think all of us letterpress fanatics caused the shortage. I started by ink blending my water and sky background and then I was ready to start pressing. After I pressed all my images in a variety of colors, I trimmed out my panel and realized I forgot to press my sub sentiment. Oh no! But it really wasn’t a problem, I just pressed it on a separate piece of cotton paper and added it to my panel. I added some foam tape to my panel, attached it to my card base and then added some yellow sequins that I had in my stash. Easy Peasy! I also show a nighttime card I did off screen. I just made my sun into a moon. I think I like the nighttime card just as much as the sun card. I love the look and feel of the cotton paper when you press on it! You can watch me create this card here. Thank you for stopping by.
