Today I am sharing a card I created using the Pure Joy suite from Pinkfresh Studio. I really wanted to do a card with a hummingbird before they are gone for the winter. I have a bully in my yard. I have 4 feeders out there and he will sit in the tree and scare all the other hummingbirds off just as soon as they get close. Eventually they do all get to share in the sugar water, but boy he is a bully. He’s cute though. To start, I hot foiled my image with black foil, using the Pure Joy press plate, and then I used the Pure Joy stencils to ink blend my images. I die cut my images using the Pure Joy dies, and then I was ready to start on my background. For my background, I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Dotted Petals press plate, cotton paper and Hydrangea Ink. For my frame I used Waffle Flower’s Inside/Outside Scalloped Elongated Oval die. I cut two of these, one in white and one in purple cardstock so I could have an accent color in the middle of my frame. Then I decided how I wanted my flowers placed and adhered them with liquid glue. I used foam tape on my background, frame and hummingbird so I would have plenty of dimension. I chose a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio’s Favorite Things Sentiments press plates. Then the final touch was to add my Clear Drops, also from Pinkfresh Studio. I think this came out so cute. All inks used were Pinkfresh Studio…Hydrangea, Opulence, Grassy Knoll, Olive, Sage, Eucalyptus and Mulberry Blush. I also did a sample off screen in the pinks, Sparkling Rose and Raspberry Bliss. I can’t decide which is my favorite. I just love sitting outside and watching the hummingbirds! You can watch me create this card here. Thank you so much for stopping by!
