The Birdie Friends in Winter stencil and die set from Waffle Flower is absolutely adorable! I love that the die set leaves cut marks on the birdies to accentuate all the details on the birds wings, beaks and faces. I started by die cutting my birdies and placing them back in the negative space on my grip mat and then stenciled them in red and greens. I stuck with a pretty traditional color pallet. I cut my pine branches from Spellbinders Christmas Cocktails die set out of a dark green cardstock that I had in my stash. My branches were cut from Spellbinders Truffle and my garland was cut from gold cardstock. My background was dry embossed using Alabaster cardstock with the Cross Hatch Texture Die. I applied texture paste to my branches and I love the added texture it gives to my images. I adhered my branches and birdies with foam strips, because, well, because I love dimension. My sentiment came from Waffle Flower’s Merry Subsentiment Die Cuts, and I added a few matte gold pearls for the final touch. I’m really happy with how this card came out.
