Chimney Caper

I think it should be a requirement that we make at least one Santa card per holiday season. When I saw the Chimney Caper die and stamp set from Spellbinders I just knew I had to do a shaped card. To start, I die cut my pieces and assembled my Santa and chimney. I used the Perfect Touch Arches and Tag die set to create my frame and background piece. I traced the shape on my card base and trimmed the corners off to get a shaped card base. For my background I started with a light blue card stock and ink blended in a dark blue and purple to give a hit of a night sky. I ran my background through the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing folder and am in love with the texture I got. But…I still wanted my snowflakes to stand out a little more so I used a brayer and added white ink on top to accent the snowflakes. I added my snow bank and chimney with foam strips and glued my Santa directly to my panel. I white heat embossed my sentiment on black card stock and added some white gems scattered about to simulate snow. I think it came out so cute!
